What is The Time Broker?
The Time Broker is a private watch boutique in North Adelaide specialising in luxury timepieces.
Our focus is on a carefully selected collection, private appointments, direct transactions and a more considered way to buy, sell and trade watches.
Do you buy, sell and trade watches?
Yes.
We buy, sell and trade watches, and will consider a broad range of timepieces where the transaction makes sense.
The watches we acquire are not necessarily watches we will retain for retail. Our boutique collection is intentionally more selective and focused on luxury timepieces we genuinely want to represent.
Are the watches you sell owned by The Time Broker?
Our direction is increasingly towards company-owned inventory.
Owning our stock directly gives us greater flexibility when negotiating, considering trades and structuring transactions, without unnecessary layers between us and the client.
Do you accept consignments?
Yes, but selectively.
Consignment is reserved for exceptional pieces that are of genuine interest to us and complement our collection.
We are not seeking to build our inventory through general consignment.
Can I trade my current watch towards another watch?
Yes.
Trades are an important part of our business. We can consider individual watches or multiple watches as part of a transaction, depending on the pieces involved.
Will you trade watches that you would not normally stock?
Yes.
Our retail collection is deliberately selective, but we will consider a much broader range of watches in trade where the overall transaction makes commercial sense.
Can you source a particular watch for me?
Yes.
We can discreetly source specific luxury timepieces through our network of dealers, collectors and industry contacts.
Sourcing is handled individually and depends on the reference, specification, condition and availability required.
Do I need an appointment?
Private appointments are our preferred way of meeting clients.
They allow sufficient time to inspect watches properly, discuss purchases or trades and consider options without the pressure of a conventional retail environment.
What can I expect during a private appointment?
Appointments are tailored to the client and are intentionally relaxed.
You are welcome to take your time viewing watches, discussing a trade or simply talking watches. The boutique has been designed around the experience as much as the transaction.
Are all watches authentic?
Yes. Every watch sold by The Time Broker is represented as authentic.
How do you assess authenticity?
Each watch is assessed against the characteristics, components and reference details appropriate to that particular model.
For additional reassurance, we can also arrange to meet you at a watchmaker of your choice, where any watch in our collection can be independently inspected and authenticated prior to purchase.
Do your watches include a warranty?
Yes.
Watches sold by The Time Broker include a 12-month mechanical warranty from the date of sale, subject to the terms of that warranty.
Where a watch also has remaining manufacturer warranty, that warranty continues separately in accordance with the manufacturer's terms.
Do you ship Australia-wide?
Yes.
We offer insured Australia-wide delivery, subject to the applicable limits and conditions of our Jewellers Block insurance arrangements.
Can I inspect or collect a watch in person?
Yes.
Private inspection and collection are available from our North Adelaide boutique by appointment.
Are your prices negotiable?
Depending on the watch and transaction, there may be flexibility.
Because our focus is increasingly on company-owned inventory, we are able to consider offers, trades and transaction structures directly.
